Cozy evening around a Moulin à Vent tasting

On October 21, around thirty alumni gathered in the superb premises of IESF (Engineers and Scientists of France) around their comrade Christophe Peiron (S2001), Air France airline pilot and winegrower in Beaujolais, to discover his estate and taste its vintages, in particular its Moulin à Vent (whose 2018 Les 4 Sœurs cuvée was awarded a Gold medal at the 2021 Beaujolais Grands Vins Contest).

The evening began with a short presentation of the Association's activities to quickly follow up with a presentation of the wine estate and leave room for tasting. Christophe had organized a little game to test our sensations in the mouth (nothing on the olfactory side) to detect the acidity, the roundness, the alcoholic side and the sweet side of the wine. It's not easy to recognize these criteria, with the exception of the sweetness which was almost a hit!

The evening continued with a tasting of Moulin à Vent from 2018 and 2019, aged or not in oak barrels, around a buffet of cold meats, cheese, surprise breads and other crackers. No wine comments on this part, but Christophe, very warm and available, answered the many questions that everyone had to ask him.

The promotions went from the 59 to the 2021 with a majority of post-2000 promotions and the exchanges, on multiple subjects, lasted until late in the evening.

A very nice intergenerational and friendly evening!
