Grand Oral: Environmental Engineering Certificate from the CEDAR Chair (Chair for Ecodesign of AiRcraft)

During the months of April and May, 20 students from ISAE SUPAERO & 16 from ISAE ENSMA attended the Environmental Engineering Certificate of the CEDAR Chair (Chair for Ecodesign of AiRcraft) funded by Airbus.

This 175-hourcertificate, divided into 3 modules: 1.Environment and aeronautics (61h); 2.Aviation of the future (70h) & 3.Engineer in action (44h), concludes with a Grand Oral, an exercise in which groups of 4 to 5 students deal with subjects related to the Chair's theme.

The oral exams will take place in person on the ISAE SUPAERO site and will be broadcast by videoconference.

Tuesday June 1st

9:00 Welcome / Introduction
9:30 am Lecture by Etienne TERRENOIRE on the impact of aeronautics on the climate
10:30 Presentation of Airbus actions
11:30 Presentation of ISAE-SUPAERO actions (presentation of the Toulouse Institute for Sustainable Aviation (ISA) project and the CAST tool for simulating aviation-climate trajectories).
2:00 pm Panel 7: How can we integrate non-CO2 effects into forward-looking aviation scenarios? What are the brakes and levers for action to reduce non-CO2 effects?
3:00 pm Group 6: What are the scenarios for low-carbon hydrogen for the aviation fleet?
4:00 pm Group 5: How can we define a fair carbon budget for the aviation sector? What are the solutions for sharing this budget between states? between citizens?
