Damien COURTEVILLE - Member of the office
ISAE-SUPAERO Engineer, 2021
Presentation
Alan ALLART, Damien COURTEVILLE and Thibaut FORMOSA are 3 students of ISAE-SUPAERO, class of 2021, passionate amateurs who embark on an ambitious challenge: to design an amateur rocket, reproducing on a scale of 1:13 the French rocket Diamant BP4 ( 1975) but with a solid propellant engine, in order to participate in international events organized annually in Switzerland (in 2022, ceiling 2 km), then in the USA (in 2023, ceiling 9 km), thus contributing to the international influence of ISAE -SUPAERO.
Partners
Matthieu COMPIN, ISAE-SUPAERO technical space referent, is supporting the realization of this project.
The Alumni Association wishes to energize and promote the development of student projects in partnership with Alumni, following the recent creation of the technical clubs relationship pole within the Toulouse chapter: Diamant BP4 is the perfect opportunity to materialize this partnership. This is how the AstEx (Experimental Astronautics) technical club project is being created within the Association to provide a framework for amateur rocket projects such as Diamant BP4. A first step has already been taken with the holding of the preliminary design review for Diamant BP4 in early June, during which students and Alumni were able to share useful recommendations for the future success of this ambitious project!
We are delighted and honored to have requested the sponsorship of Jean-Gérard ROUSSEL, former head of the Diamant B-P4 project at CNES, as well as the expertise of Isabelle RONGIER (SUPAERO 1988), ArianeGroup quality director. .
Jean-Louis MARCÉ (Vice-president of the Alumni association, who successfully solicited the club's new godfather and godmother), Nghia HOANG (Master ISAE 2012 - Head of Animation of the Toulouse chapter of the alumni association) and Grégory PERSONNE (SUPAERO 1997, head of the Technical Clubs Relation pole of the Toulousain chapter) complete the review committee.
